Making Space to Hear Yourself

This morning I felt something uncomfortable move through me, a sensation I couldn’t quite name.

I was trying to get my toddler ready on time while keeping the baby calm, and before I even understood what I was feeling, I reacted – in defense. And when the moment passed, I was left wondering where it had come from.

This was what raised the question: why are some emotions harder to understand than others?

I think it’s because we rarely get the chance to meet them before we’re already responding to them. In motherhood especially, so much happens so fast. Feelings don’t always get a moment to truly surface before the next thing arrives.

This is an invitation to create that moment, not to take up more time, just a moment long enough to check in.

When the house goes quiet, or you finally get a minute alone, instead of reaching for your phone or the next task, try turning inward first.

Take a breath and ask yourself:

What am I feeling right now?

You don’t need to solve anything. Simply noticing is enough.
